III Getxo International chess open

Fadura Sports Centre is, for yet another year, a venue for world chess, hosting the Getxo International Chess Open. From 8 to 15 September, over 150 participants, including some of the world’s leading players, will be competing in this championship organised by Getxo Chess Club. In this year’s edition, there will be an unquestionable guest star in the championship - the player from León, Jaime Santos Latasa, Spanish and World champion and winner of the last two editions. Over 20 qualified masters, 7 different nationalities, a big event that no chess player or fan should miss. On 8 September, Fadura will also be hosting the 4th edition of the José Ramón Arrupe Friendship Tournament, in which 15 chess clubs from all over northern Spain will be taking part.
