Portugalete has everything ready for its patron saint’s festivities. From today and until the 17th, the town is hosting all kinds of activities for adults and children alike. Competitions, kiddies’ activities or a medieval market are what we will come across in the streets of Portugalete. The main attraction, however, comes at night when, for yet another year, the stages of these festivities will be taken over by the best music on the national and international scene. Carlos Jean, Rosario Flores and Tequila top a festive music bill that will start seconds after the “txupinazo” kicks off the festivities, whilst the Canadian group The Real Mckenzies and Boney M will put the international stamp on the selection of concerts for the town’s festivities. At el Kiosko (the Bandstand), as usual we will f¡nd more traditional rhythms such as bilbainadas, mariachis or the Portugalete Town Band. But there’s even more! Street theatre, kalejiras or the traditional giants and bigheads put the icing on these traditional festivities. But if you’re not yet convinced, come along and see for yourself. Join the San Roque festivities tonight; we’re sure you’ll be back tomorrow.
